Shadow Company

9th - 12th grade

  • Group of people smiling on stage. | Yes! And Collaborative Arts

Shadow Company is an intentionally diverse community of young people with a goal of building an ensemble of actors who recognize the power of their voice and tell their own stories.

  • A group of diverse young people standing together in a semi-circle on stage with their faces covered. | Yes! And Collaborative Arts

Shadow Company performs theatre pieces revolving around issues of social justice and current issues, revealing their own thoughts and experiences on a variety of issues, both past and present.

  • Shadow Company members have the opportunity to apply for the Junior Staff Job Training Initiative. Here students have the opportunity to “shadow” and train with industry professionals and explore best practices within designated training tracks and artistic modalities.

  • Part of being an artist is seeing art! Shadow Company members see a theatre performance or some other performance art every month!

  • Being in Shadow Company means expanding your artistic skills. Company members participate in workshops and classes across artistic disciplines.

  • Shadow Company is year-round program and high school students can join at any time! Read below to learn more and register!

A performing arts company made up of high school students, Shadow Company members learn about all aspects of the theater-making process, including on and offstage roles. With an ensemble-based methodology, they work with a director, professional artists and industry leaders to build their skills as artists, collaborators, leaders, and citizens.
