As students develop physically, cognitively, socially, and artistically, so do their educational needs!

So each program component of Yes! And… Studio offers classes in three phases:
Discovering, Exploring, and Refining. 

Our programs are designed to guide students toward the moments of claiming their own power as artists, makers and creative learners in a way that promotes skill building in a non-competitive, collaborative environment.  Several classes are offered within each phase of Y!A Studio’s programs, progressively moving students into deeper learning and appreciation for their work, their discipline, and their potential – all with intention and care.

A different kind of art class…

All Yes! And… Programs are taught through a unique collaborative arts education process called Tribe-Centered Learning.  The philosophy and methodology of Tribe-Centered Learning is founded on the belief that in the event of good collaboration, the process of creating together and engagement with intentional imaginative play, students become more invested learners. Because students participate in an intentional building and honoring of classroom culture their presence and creative contributions become essential to the learning process.  When student ideas and creative processes are not only affirmed, but integral to the learning and teaching, the risk-taken is honored and the student validated.

Yes! And… Studio Faculty

Each member of the Yes! And… Studio Faculty is a trained, professional artist in their field with experience in multiple theatre arts disciplines.  They offer an integrated and cross-disciplinary approach to their work and to their classroom.  Additionally each member of the Yes! And… Staff is trained in Yes! And…’s unique brand of collaborative arts education.  As educators, they are passionate about offering students a holistic, transformative learning experience.  As artists, they choose to collaborate with young people – not just as their teacher, but as their partner in the art-making process.
