Fringe Festival Camp with Shadow Company

Details

Dates: June 26-July 7 *No camp July 4th*

The teens that sign up for our Fringe Festival camp with Shadow Company will be working every day towards an original production for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The day starts at 8:45 sharp with a student-led warm-up. Most of the day is spent in rehearsals and refinement of story as campers work with professional artists to create a show worthy of the Fringe Festival. We take a break half-way through for lunch and trips across the street to the corner store for snacks. Our day ends around 3:30pm. We meet the rest of the summer on Friday evenings to further rehearse. Our Fringe Festival show runs the weekends in September. (There is no additional charge for participating in the Fringe.)

Summer Sort of Thing

Teens are also welcome to sign up for our other summer program: Summer Sort of Thing. Come perform in a full length musical! Campers will learn the basics of stagecraft, design, rehearsal, and refinement as they build a show designed to be seen by a community audience. Each day will consist of rehearsals with the director, music director and choreographer as well as design classes. Campers will experience a multi-run performance, with shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (the final weekend of the program). You can register below for Summer Sort of Thing, but details are on this page: Details and registration for Summer Sort of Thing

What To Bring, What To Wear

For Fringe Festival Camp- Please pack a lunch or send money for your camper to purchase lunch nearby. Make sure it is a decent-sized lunch with plenty of fluids. Cold water is provided for them to keep hydrated! We have the ability to keep the lunches cold, but it would be best if they are "ready to eat" and do not need to be heated. Please make sure your kids do not bring any personal items to camp including money, jewelry, electronics, etc. Cell phones will only be allowed to be used at certain times of the day. Please have your children wear loose-fitting clothes that might get dirty. Think of what you might wear to a yoga class but not brand-new because we don't want to ruin anything!

More Forms!

Of course, after applying for camp through our handy on-line form (or downloading the PDF version here) you might have thought that you were done with forms. But no! We require an emergency form and a media release. The first day of camp you will be asked to stop for a few minutes and fill them out OR you can download them, print them out and send them or bring them with you the first day.

Returning families: We probably have your records on file. You can save a tree and just let us know if there has been any changes in their/your information in the past year.
