In the summer of 2005, Yes! And… was back at CBC with two camps. One was a traditional 4-week program for children 9-14 with “Masks” as their theme. In their final production, “A Tale of Two Forests,” Jacqueline and Billy Jean made their debuts in a story of a Tiki God, a thief and an imaginary friend. The other camp was a High School age camp (called SHADOW camp) that ran for 5 weeks. Their final performance, entitled “A Package Deal,” was an open text that was interpreted and staged six different ways, including a domestic squabble, a bar scene, a hospital waiting room and the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet. For the third summer at Urban Promise, we had a new collaboration with First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville. They graciously let us transform their space to use for four weeks. Urban Promise’s show was called “Princes to Act, and Lava to Behold the Secret C or Serpent on the Mount,” and featured Camille, and the “secret C” who wore nuns’ habits that made them invisible. And for the first time, we offered a program in a far off land…Los Angeles! Yes! And… sent five staff out to meet one of our veterans who worked at the First Baptist Church of Los Angeles.
