The Great Book of History

The Dedication Page

The next year, Summer Theatre Camp became a 4 week program. Thirty-six children from those same four communities came together to create from their imaginations tribes with very intricate histories and cultures. The theme was “Living Underground.” Campers went on numerous field trips to caves, tunnels and a echo chamber to explore what it would be like to live under the earth. The play was titled “Under the Big Night,” and followed the stories of three tribes (like the Ruffin Jodas) living underground and dealing with the problem of their water source (a river) drying up.
